How to Get Your Appraisal Ordered Quickly
My tip this week is regarding the payment of the appraisal.
The appraiser determines if the property you are purchasing meets the value that you have paid for it per the sales contract. This is a crucial part of your loan process. Since the appraiser does not work for Pilgrim Mortgage, but is contracted by us, the payment is required to be paid directly to them in advance. The appraiser will not set an appointment to view the property until payment is received. In order to avoid delays, it’s important to pay for the appraisal as soon as possible.
Once the appraisal is ordered you will be receiving a secure payment link or you can also make a payment by phone. Remember, the appraisal company will not send the appraiser out to the property until this is done. A lot of people assume they can hold off on paying for the appraisal, but this is a big misconception. The appraisal can take up to 10 days to be completed depending on the loan. The quicker the appraisal is paid, the sooner it can be assigned and viewing of property can be scheduled.
So, remember to keep your closing process smooth and on time, get your appraisal paid as soon as possible.
